Two cars fit in the attached two car garage ... imagine that. Cars three and four live outdoors, on the driveway and car five parks on the street in Sioux Falls where my daughter goes to college.

Next year three and four will be at college in Duluth and Sioux City. With three kids in college I won't be able to afford to go anywhere anymore so a good parking spot will be necessary.

In a pinch I can get an extra car in the new garage along with the tractor and all my woodworking stuff.

        what about these options:
        In the garage
        under carport
on blocks in the front yard
        police impound lot
hanging from the wrecker tow hook
don't own a car since i lost my license
don't have a car since the repo man came.

just askin' - suggestions of alternatives don't mean i do it.

Somehow, the actual poll didn't make it with the post. Sorry anyone missed it.

I guess those could be "other". An explanation in a post would suffice. The impound lot sounds like a good story.

In the garage. Always have. I've never understood why some people will park a $30,000 new car out in the rain sleet, ice and snow for years and years just to store a garage full of misc. crap that would not bring $1000 in a garage sale.

Its a matter of opinion for sure, but some statements made above are likening the fact that some folks that keep their cars parked outside of garages are trashy. I have several neighbors who keep their mercedes outside, they are well to do educated people who are certainly not trashy. Its a boating community, so kinda hoity toity. There are some simple facts to consider for peoples reasoning on leaving cars out - some people leave really early and dont want the noise of a garage door disturbing others, for some when it rains, water collects at those panel joints and drips into the shop all over your tools, fear of forgetting to shut the door, etc.

When the shop is setup I intend to keep the newer car in there and leave one out. I have a circular drive with a connected straight drive, but only 2 car garage. Even with everything mobile I doubt I'll be able to fit both and the shop contents.

The wifes cars are parked in the attached garage, my cars are parked in the hangar under the wings of the plane. My trucks are parked under the lean to shelter on the back of he hangar. The Jag is parked in the mechanical side of my shop on the raised lift, over my Miata. The Suzuki is parked on the aft deck of the housboat, under the boat shed.

99% of the time on the driveway.

We have a semi-circular driveway and it holds both cars and an area in the middle for a glider/seat and a wooden bench. We pull the cars out to the street when shooting hoops.

Our HOA demands that cars not be left on the street overnight and threatens to tow any such; dunno if they have done it yet.

Somewhat close to what my b-i-law commented once! But then, even apart from the woodworking tools, its much easier/safer to park a car outside than put the gardening implements or the kids sports gear or the bicycles or the paint cans or the empty suitcases outside, open to the weather. As far as I can see, cars today are built with very tough exterior and my cars don't show much worse for the wear. Can't say that of the other stuff, like the sneakers and shoes I put in a shelf in the garage !

My wife's big grouse is this - that I've taken over the garage and did not give her the option of parking inside, ever. For one thing - I told her to leave the garage to me and use the house as she will. For another, I've promised her that I can clear up space for emergency parking during hurricanes - and have done it too. I painted my garage in two tones - a 3' (approx) border in red and the middle portion in grey. I measured it such that I just have to clear off the grey part and it's enough to hold both cars; I need not measure each time. Of course, my wife's car is the priority, I leave my RAV4 out and it has withstood a couple of hurricanes and storms.
It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it.

Two in the garage. The P/u gets the driveway unless one bay in the detached garage is open. That serves as a shop (woodworking and mechanical) and usually has two or three projects going at the same time. (and I wonder why things take so long)

In the driveway. Simply put, my garage doors are too small to fit my truck in, and my Saturn is, well a Saturn...

I used to keep my Ranger in the garage, and it just barely fit.

Whoever decided that a 2 car garage meant 2 1970s Honda Civics needs to be beaten with a 2x4.

In the garage. There are a lot of trees around my house and finding branches in the driveway is normal. The last time I left my car outside the garage for 60 minutes, when I went out to put the car away I had a big dent with a pine branch sitting in the middle of the dent.
